SORC Presents a $19,500 donation to Volunteer Fire Dept. for Jaws of Life

Arnold Volunteer Fire Department members received a presentation check from Sandhills Open Road Challenge representatives in the amount of $19,500.00 on March 26. The money will be used to purchase the new “Jaws of Life.”

The Sandhills Open Road Challenge presented a check to the Arnold Volunteer Fire Department to purchase a “Jaws of Life.” The presentation was made Friday, March 26, at the Arnold Fire Hall.

The $19,500.00 donation was raised at auction from the sixth annual SORC Winter Party hosted annually by a number of long-time supporters of the SORC in Lincoln. The Lincoln group has raised a total of $40,000.00 in donations to the SORC, helping to push total donations by the SORC above $300,000.00 since 2001.

The SORC is a non-profit organization of volunteers who are dedicated toproviding a safe open road racing venue with all proceeds donated to local civic projects, fire departments and scholarship funds. The 10th anniversary of the event will be held August 12 through the 14, 2010, with entrants from 28 states and Canada.
